Home Remedies For Eczema


Eczema is a common skin problem which can be explained as the inflammation of the skin, usually causing itchiness and sometimes blisters and scaling, resulting in itchiness, reddening, thickening and possibly oozing. May be acute, chronic or subacute. Dermatitis, also known as eczema, is a skin irritation characterized by red, flaky skin, sometimes with cracks or tiny blisters. Eczema primarily affects young children. The underlying cause is usually an allergy to many things, including foods, wool, skin lotions. The disorder may begin in month-old babies. It usually subisdes by age 3 but may flare again at age 10 to 12 and last through puberty. Symptoms include red, itchy skin and sores that ooze and crust over. The condition may be short-lived (acute) or long term (chronic), and is usually treated with topical anti-inflammatory medications available OTC or by prescription.

Home Remedies For Eczema

Apply a mixture of 1 tsp camphor and 1 tsp sandalwood paste on the rashes.

Rub nutmeg  against a smooth stone with a  few drops of water. Make a smooth paste. Apply.

Always avoid substances you are allergic to. Wear cotton clothes as they do not irritate your itchy skin. Exposure to water for a long time can lead to skin dryness. Use good quality moisturizer.

Drink tomato juice daily, it will cure the symptoms in a few days. Use pine tar soap to wash the affected skin.

Add 1 tbls turmeric powder to a tbls of bitter neem leaves. Grind to paste. Apply.
