Home Remedies For Backache


Backache is a very common condition which can be described as an ache localized in the back. Back pain is one of humanity's most frequent complaints and does not usually reflect any underlying disease. As the back bears the weight of the entire body, overweight persons feel the strain on the back when they have to carry an extra load. However, anyone with back pain that does not improve after a few days should first consult a Physician, as back pain can sometimes indicate significant and serious conditions which might not otherwise be diagnosed. Back pain is very rarely a sign of a serious medical problem. Problems with some organs can cause back pain as well, for example kidney infection, prostate problems, female pelvic disorder, bladder, and even constipation can be felt on the lower back. Back problems affect all kinds of people, men as much as women and young as well as old.

Home Remedies For Backache

Avoid lifting heavy objects in the last couple of weeks of your pregnancy.

Limejuice serves as an excellent home remedy for backache. Squeeze the juice of 1 lemon and add common salt in it. Drink it two times in a day. It will act as a great back pain reliever.

Acute or chronic illnesses like kidney or prostate problems, female disorders, Influenza, and arthritis, may also lead to backache.

Apply the mahanarayan oil on your back. Put 1/3 cup ginger powder and 1/3 cup baking soda into the hot water in your tub. Soak in the tub for 10 to 15 minutes. Repeat this bath 2 or 3 times a week. This provides extra healing and muscle relaxation.

The patient should avoid fatty, spicy, and fried foods; curd, sweetmeats and sugar; condiments; and tea and coffee. Foods that have been processed for preservation have few nutrients and should also be eliminated from the diet.

Vitamin C that is mainly found in citrus fruits is considered valuable for getting rid of backaches. Consume about 2000 mg of this vitamin everyday.
