Shock - Shock symptom, treatment, causes


Shock is a sudden onset of inadequate blood circulation that can lead to collapse. coma and death. The basic feature of shock is a sudden drop in blood pressure.

Shock may result fromsevere reduction in blood volume because of bleeding or fluid loss due to vomiting, diarrhoea, extensive burns, excessive urine production, or pooling of fluid in the tissues due to a sudden lack of oxygen or ANAPHYLAXIS (a life-threatening allergic reaction). Anything that suddenly and severely weakens the heart's pumping action. such as HEART AITACK or acute onset of other heart muscle disease, inadequate return of blood to the heart due to sudden dilatation of blood vessels caused by SEPTIC SHOCK, severe injury or certain poisons . sudden obstruction of blood flow from the right side of the heart to the lungs, as in PULMONARY EMBOLISM.

Symptom and Treatment of Shock

SYMPTOMS of Shock - There is rapid onset of weakness, dizziness, paleness, cold and sweaty skin, and a fast weakpulse, Breathing is rapid, shallow and irregular, and loss of consciousness follows,

TREATMENT of Shock - Shock is an emergency that needs intensive care in hospital to support the circulation until the cause can be corrected.
